Our adventures through RES 2026 led us to many incredible people doing the good work across Indian country and this week the IVPodcast was joined by two of those amazing people! Mike Stopp and Manny Garcia of Seven Star Business, shared an hour of their time to relay some important and time sensitive information for Tribal nations who could be awarded part of a 14 billion dollar settlement.

The Tribal PFAS Water Settlement has been an ongoing process, (no litigation or court action), with deadlines coming and going and little to no informed engagement towards Tribal governments. Enter Seven Star Business Solutions who are here to help said Tribal nations get their applications in to be potentially awarded part of their share of the settlement, before the upcoming July 2026 deadline.

The 3M/Dupont PFAS Water Settlements represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Tribal governments to secure funding to address long-standing PFAS contamination in drinking water and surface water systems. PFAS—often referred to as “forever chemicals”—have disproportionately impacted Tribal communities due to legacy industrial activity, military installations, and aging water infrastructure. While Tribal water systems are eligible claimants under the settlement, the process to determine eligibility, properly document claims, and secure the full amount of funds to which a Tribe is entitled is complex and time-sensitive. Without informed engagement, Tribes risk under-claiming or missing settlement resources altogether. Strategic participation ensures that settlement proceeds are not only secured, but also translated into effective, culturally aligned remediation plans that protect public health, safeguard natural resources, and uphold Tribal sovereignty.” – Seven Star Business
