Earlier this year, Indigenous Vision’s Souta Calling Last (Executive Director) and Melissa Spence (MMIW Director) launched themselves into a 6 month professional coaching program with the Positive Psychology Coaching and Diversity Institute!

“The Positive Psychology Coaching and Diversity Institute offers a transformative range of training programs centered on a strengths-based approach, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), as well as leadership coaching and training. With a commitment to fostering personal and professional growth, these programs empower individuals and organizations to harness their inherent strengths, nurture inclusive leadership skills, and navigate the complexities of DEI. By blending the principles of positive psychology with expert insights in DEI and leadership, the institute equips participants with the tools to create thriving workplaces, cultivate diversity, and drive excellence, ultimately reshaping the way we approach leadership and diversity in today’s world.” – PPCaDi.com

After being coached for her organizational needs, Souta Calling Last found the evidence-based method of using positive psychology so useful she believed it to be another powerful and helpful tool in the ongoing mission of Indigenous Vision; revitalizing communities, people, and land. Along with Melissa Spence, they enrolled in the first cohort of 2026 and have been coaching alongside peer coaches and mentors to ensure they get the best training possible while on the pathway to the ICF (International Coaching Federation) Accredited Level 1 & Level 2 Certification!

They are currently completing the Positively Diverse Leadership (PDL) Coach Training Certification and have just a few coaching hours to get in before they can test for their Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential with the ICF. This means there is plenty of opportunity to schedule a coaching session with Souta or Melissa to help you gain mental clarity around goals, increase well-being by fostering positive emotions and lasting behavioral changes. The benefits of positive psychology and strengths based coaching methodologies can help you effectively manage, cope, and navigate setbacks, and mental blocks when applied for professional development, personal growth, and improving overall satisfaction.

Currently, coaching hours are being offered pro bono, however, donations are encouraged and can be made through the IV donations page, or through your coach’s personal Paypal & Zelle.
