Friends in Nuwuvi/Southern Paiute territory are getting a special treat this week as Indigenous Vision has teamed up with Fifth Sun Project, Her 38 Roses, and Apache Skateboards for a free Community Beading Circle! Join us on Thursday, February 29th in Las Vegas at Craig Ranch Park starting at 2 p.m. for a gorgeous beading sesh under the warm desert sun. This event is taking place on day 2 of the, ‘You’re Skating on Native Land’ event by Apache Skateboards and The University of Las Vegas Center for Multicultural Education.

Day 1 was full of community-building workshops, film screenings inside the UNLV with tons of creative outlets for attendee’s; Design Your Own Skate Deck, Zine Making, Skate Merch Raffles, and a Panel Discussion featuring founder of Apache Skateboards, Douglas Miles, Sr, and the Apache Skate Team and more! Day 2 starts at 2 p.m. at Craig Ranch Park as the event gets rolling with the All Wheels Skate Jam where you can come watch up-close professional skate demos, trick competition, win prizes, enter raffles, and join our beading circle! Indigenous Vision will be co-facilitating the Community Beading Circle starting at 2 p.m. with Melissa Spence, Fifth Sun Project, and Her 38 Roses, all are welcomed to join our circle. Supplies, snacks, and drinks will be provided.

If you’re a skater or just curious about getting into skating in the Las Vegas area, you have to come down and join us! All levels of beaders are welcome to attend; this is a free event and community gathering to find grounding and healing through crafting and beading. We hope to see you there.
