We are beyond honored to have had the privilege to share a space like the FLUMC with so many wonderful Indigenous women and girls this past September. Indigenous Vision would like to thank our funders for making it all possible: Return to the Heart Foundation, Tides Foundation, and G4GC.

We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend to share space and really relax to take in all this beautiful camp has to offer. The camp is located on Kootenai and Salish land in what is now Rollins, Montana. Our retreat was attended by women and girls from Washington, Nevada, Oregon, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and of course, Montana. Our youngest attendee was 4 years old and our eldest in her late 60’s.
Thank you to the wonderful staff who made the camp amazing, especially our cooks who kept us fed throughout the day. Over the two nights we had some pretty awesome moments together; from the self defense laughs, quiet time to reflect along the lake, enjoying the live music or serenity of the wellness/zen room, to getting our hearts pumping during powwow yoga, we made the very best of the camp and our company.

Thank you to SBG Missoula Self Defense for coming to our space and sharing their work with us, here are a few highlights from that session.

Having Acosia Red Elk return to our retreat to share her Powwow Yoga was an incredible way for us to connect with our bodies and workup an appetite!

In between activities we had some spare time to spend on our own to stay in line with the focus and intent of the camp; pausing and rejuvenating as we navigate MMIW spaces to avoid burnout. Some of us were brave enough to spend time in the lake thanks to the warm weather we were lucky to have that weekend!

One of the top highlights for many of our attendees was the live musical performance by Black Belt Eagle Scout who also stayed with us throughout the weekend with her partner. When it came time for show time we were not only blown away by her performance but by her kindness and amazing merch!

Indigenous Vision would also like to recognize those who travelled long distances to our retreat like Chelsea, Violette & Satanta who honored their family members, and Kristen who travelled with her daughter and lovingly cooked our awesome Friday night feast for us!

Our hearts are completely full and we’re already working on next year’s retreat including our next fundraiser for the 2026 Dream Tipi! Keep an eye on our socials and website for details on both our 2026 Retreat and Dream Tipi Fundraiser.
Thank you again to everyone who made time for our retreat and came away with new sisters!
